A good bye from Paul

As some of you know, this is Paul Langerak's last week with us. He asked if he could put a letter out to the residents and of course I agreed. Here it is verbatim;

It all started one crispy cool night in November 2021. I had just closed out a nice big Real Estate deal for a family I fell in love with. The dream home! I was downtown at Jax restaurant celebratng with a young beauty named Monica. What a great day, what a great date. I told Monica that 2022 was going to be my year. I could feel it! I’d love to tell you that we kissed under a lamp post in downtown Denver in the snow and that I think she bent a knee during the kiss just like in the movies, but I won’t because I need to protect the innocent. So, I started my journey into 2022 and nothing! I went aggressive with markeƟng and nothing! The Feds raised the mortgage rates from 3.00% to about 7.4% in no time at all. This was the largest rate increase in 40 years. Wallstreet stopped buying residential properties almost immediately! After several months of shock and dismay, I finally conceded and decided to go to work. I saw the job posting at Vi Living for a bartender. Thought …. How hard could it be pouring drinks in a retrement community …. ha ha ha! The joke was on me!! Woweeezzerrss!! In the beginning I questoned why I was there in the first place. Afer a while I started feeling down. Where did I go wrong? What did I miss? I started thinking that I didn’t measure up and my confidence in life had hit 0. Over time I kept hearing the Residents tell me how hard I worked, how good I was, how kind and empathetc I was, what a great man I was, and finally how loved I was. It took a while, but I started to feel that way about myself again. Today, I’m ready to take another shot at life. I can only do that because of the way you have built me up; made me feel worthy again. You have ALL given me a gift that is unique and priceless. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you! Arrivederci, Paul
