Buffet tonight, February 16, 2024

Hello everyone. So I have news; as you all know, we are and have been understaffed in the dining room. This morning three servers called out sick on a day that we were already stretched thin. Rather than upset people with what might be slow and spotty service, we have decided to go with a buffet menu that will allow us to serve everyone with a minimal staff. We will be honoring the full Takeout Menu as advertised for those who would prefer that.

Better news is that we have decided that since this was an unexpected event we have decided to offer some premium wines complimentary to residents at dinner in appreciation for your patience and understanding. Whenever we have a Sip and Savor event there are always about a dozen or so really nice wines left over that are not on our wine list. As I was putting this menu together it occurred to me that this is a great way to share with the residents. Included is a nice Sauvignon Blanc, a White Tuscan, Beaujolais Nouveau, a really nice ten year old Burgundy, a couple of Shiraz, and more. Your servers will have a list.

Why does this keep happening? Well as I have mentioned many times we have a lot of trouble hiring and keeping servers. Buffets take much less manpower and it actually allows us to take more reservations-a concern many residents have voiced to me. Some residents don't like buffets, and even if they do they don't like surprises. I promise that the plates will be hot and as well as the entrees, and the carving station is always fun. If you need help carrying a plate, just ask, we have bussers and even a dishwasher helping in the dining room and I'm sure we can accommodate you.

I want to thank you for your patience, and please understand that this is not a decision we take lightly. Several of the sick servers are scheduled tomorrow as well , and so we may need to do this again.
