Celebrating National Nurses' Day, 2022

We celebrate the heart of healthcare each May 6 by honoring nurses. National Nurses' week begins May 6 and continues annually through May 12, to coincide with Florence Nightingale's birthday. Today's post features five of Vi Highlands Ranch's most dedicated team members.

Stevie Reiman, LPN

Stevie Reiman, LPN [soon to be an RN]

Stevie has worked in our Memory Support unit for 2 years after transferring from another Vi community in Arizona. She has been a nurse for 12 years but started her career as a CNA.

Stevie is recently engaged to Keith and is busy planning a wedding for May 13, 2023. Her hobbies include travel, exercise, family, anything outside and concerts. Stevie says her favorite foods are tacos, S'mores and confetti cupcakes.

Stevie says “I love working at the Vi because of the dedicated staff who care for the residents and the low patient ratio that allows time to spend time with the residents in Memory Support.

Laura Dye, RN

Laura Dye, RN

Laura has worked on the skilled nursing unit for 8 years and has been an RN for 11 years. She is married to Michael for 16 years and they have 2 children: Kaylee who is 9 and Christian is 7. Laura’s hobbies include cooking for her family, church, exercise, family togetherness.

In Laura’s words: “I have had the privilege of working at the Vi for 8 years and counting. I have grown professionally as a nurse and grown in my personal life as well. Being a nurse is a beautiful role for many reasons. I love that I get to be there for our residents during some of the most difficult times in their lives. I also get to be there with them to celebrate with them in some of the sweetest moments. I have the privilege of being their advocate when they are unable to speak for themselves. I have learned to never underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a listening ear, an honest compliment or the smallest act of kindness. I look forward to many more years of service at Vi.”
