The Grateful Dead
Hello! Thank you all for attending the Sip and Savor event last week as well as the Food and Beverage forum. The more we talk and communicate together, the better all of our experience will be. In particular, thank all of you who worked with us on the filming for the Channel 7 footage. As I understand, the segment will be aired live on Wednesday, July 31, from 11:30am-12pm on Denver7 KMGH-TV (channel 7) and from 3-3:30pm on Local3 KCDO-TV (channel 3). I'm sure we will have a clip to show on this blog at some point as well.
When they interviewed me I was trying so hard to remember all the talking points that they wanted covered I don't think I mentioned anything about food, beverage, or bees at all. They tell me it went well, we shall see. Thank you to all residents who consented to be interviewed and filmed as well.
The Sip and Savor was so much fun and I got so many compliments from you all that I really need to thank you again.
Much kudos and congratulations to Chef David and his crew for the food. We tried hard to keep everything on time as we coursed the meal and I know that it wasn't easy. Brenda was in motion constantly and by the way have you seen the new Hive Market? She is amazing. Housekeeping were real heroes and changed things up for us several times as we tried to put on our best show. Big thanks most of all to Angie, Hannah and crew for all the help with this and nearly every event we do and all the support we get from them. The next one in late August will likely be focused on Colorado as much as possible. There are only a few wines that I like from the Centennial state but the whiskey is as good as anywhere in the world. I will have a menu put together in the coming weeks for you.
At the Food and Beverage forum, we talked a lot about new restaurants and what they will be like. As I stated, I am no longer the Chef and would like to leave as many details as possible to him but we have a pretty good idea. A big message that I would like to keep making over and over again is that these venues will be as individual as we can make them and that things will not be the same as they were before the renovation. I know that change is hard but change is also inevitable and good.
On August 6th we will launch Dining at Dusk-- a coursed special meal that will be served on the Pool Patio at 5:30 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays in August. Seats are reservation only, limited to two each. We will begin taking reservations this Tuesday for the 6th and 8th, and it is limited to 40 people per night. The Menus are the same for each Tuesday and Thursdays in a week and will change weekly. I will have the menu posted on Touchtown by Monday Night.
On the menu this week, We have Palisade peaches for the first time this year. They are not quite as ripe as I would like but they will get better as the week progresses. Get ready for Olathe corn and Rocky Ford melons as we get confirmation that they are available and we will get them on the menus.
On Tuesday in the Tent, come and check out the Nacho Bar with grilled chicken, beef, and lots of toppings for you to choose among. A reminder that this is not a meal charge and that wine and beer are free.
On Thursday try the Pizzas on display as well as a mixed greens salad and (of course) a complimentary cocktail if you choose not to try the beer or wine.
A reminder that all menus and food are discussed weekly at the Culinary Corner. We meet at 10 am in the Art Studio. I hope to see you there.
