A new year is upon us! With the new year comes the opportunity to reflect on our past and and ponder our future. Many of us may consider what shifts can be made in our behavior and routines in the hopes of leading a more purposeful and balanced lifestyle. While individuals may take different approaches to creating a meaningful life, identifying purposeful activities to stay engaged and fostering intention in the way we spend our time is a great place to start a new year.
New Year Intentions focus on aligning your actions and behavior with your priorities and values. Intentions guide the WHY in our day-to-day lives and bring purpose to how we spend our time and energy. In this time of reflection:
Consider your values and from which aspects of your life you draw meaning.
Prioritize what you value in your life and make time for it.
Look closely at how you spend your time and begin allocating your energy to activities which have purpose. Spending time in a balanced and purposeful manner is the path to a more meaningful life.
Your time and energy is well-spent when engaging with something that promotes your personal wellbeing. Wellness is often considered to have six dimensions: physical, emotional, social, intellectual, spiritual, and environmental. Think of your wellness in terms of Mind, Body and Spirit. Each has its place in our overall wellbeing and each is important in ensuring we are Living Well.
Begin blazing a path of Living Well in this new year. Engage by choosing an activity to stimulate Mind-Body-Spirit wellness.
Here are some examples:
Attend a guided meditation.
Visit with Bailey the therapy dog, during one of her monthly Living Room appearances.
Stimulate your intellect by stopping in to see a lecture, wellness talk or travel presentation. Or, play a board or card game!
Join a fitness class or get inspiration from a walking challenge.
However you choose to Live Well this year, Lifestyle is here for you every step of the way.
