Join us for Oktoberfest: Sunday, September 18th

O

Oktoberfest originated 212 years ago in Munich, Germany as festival honoring the nuptials of the crown prince of Bavaria (who later became King Louis I) and his bride, Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen. Held annually, the 2-week long festival ends the first Sunday in October. Oktoberfest has become a world-wide celebration of community, honoring the original marriage events when Munich's citizens were invited to enjoy the Volk-Festival in front of the city gates to welcome the bride to her new home.
We choose to celebrate Oktoberfest for many of the same reasons! We wish to honor our community and welcome everyone to celebrate the abundance of fall and the joy of the upcoming season.
Our celebration this Sunday begins at 12.30PM on The Commons.
We invite you to share this event with friends and family in hopes that you will all participate in the following:

Bavarian/Beer-Themed Costume Contest
Beer-Stein Hoisting Competition
Pretzel-Eating Competition
Lawn Games (Pumpkin Ring-Toss, Jenga, Yahtzee, Checkers)
Face Painting
AND MORE!
